Back to Texas
I began today with a quick walk to Ess-a-bagel for bagels to take home to Kim. We found this bagel place when we lived here and they are absolutely the best bagels you will ever eat. They’ve been in business almost 50 years and I can see why.
It was 25°
I found the best time to take pictures of the window displays is at 6:30 in the morning when there aren’t a million people between you and the window.
We are off to the airport so will pick this up again on Sunday when I return with Aaron and Bailyn. So excited to get to be a part of her Christmas gift.
Today’s advent:
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Luke 2:13–14
“God can work suddenly. He can break onto the scene and change things in an instant: the most difficult problem successfully resolved, a dead-end obstacle removed, a certain defeat swallowed up in victory. In this case, as in most, God’s ‘suddenly’ is preceded by waiting and by His Word. It was a normal night in the fields, shepherds looking over sheep—mundane, tired, and thankless work. But in the quiet stillness of night, they watched and waited.
God can break into your long night and suffuse it with shouts of praise. Watch and wait for God. Give yourself a little quiet stillness and set yourself before His Word. Reflect on the good news of Messiah. This watching and waiting we call ‘faith.’ And suddenly, you may see God’s glory and blessing pour into your life. ‘Glory to God in the highest.’”
